Dr. Jeni Rogan-Waeltz

Dr. Jeni Rogan-Waeltz

Veterinarian / Owner

Hi! I’m Dr. Jeni Waeltz, the excited and grateful new owner of The Welcome Waggin’. I started here part-time in November 2019. Then on April 1st, 2020, at the start of a pandemic, I made the leap to ownership. I received my DVM degree from Purdue University in 2011. Since then, I’ve worked in various capacities that include private general practice and director level recruiting roles for two veterinary corporations. I’ve completed certifications in Veterinary Practice Management, Compassion Fatigue, and I’ve almost completed my certification to become a Professional Coach. Being a veterinarian is an amazing gift but the profession is suffering from burnout and compassion fatigue, and high suicide rates. After hiring 100s of doctors during my recruiting years, I wanted to give back to the profession and support others on their journey of developing the mindset and resilience to become their best selves. So in September 2019, I started a life and leadership coaching business that supports busy professionals struggling to be and do it all. You can check out my website here.

The wonder and awe of the human-animal bond are what motivates me to get up in the morning to care for your pets. Using my skills as a veterinarian and a coach, I love taking a holistic approach to keeping your pets as vibrant and healthy for as long as I can. Examining and treating your pet in the place they love most, their home, makes all the difference. I have a special interest in the education of preventive diseases, dentistry and oral health, dermatology, weight loss in overweight pets, feline medicine, and the care for elderly and geriatric dogs and cats. My love for animals started as a little girl. My childhood cat lived to be 20 years and 3 months and the bond we shared sealed the deal of wanting to spend my life around animals. You can read that story here. Currently, I live in Oswego with my husband and our two girls, two cats, and two dogs! During my time away from the practice, I enjoy all things outdoors, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family.

Dr. Aubrey Fagan

Dr. Aubrey Fagan

Veterinarian

Hi! I’m Dr. Aubrey Fagan. I graduated from St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. I started working as a veterinarian in the Chicago suburbs before moving down to Texas to treat horses, dogs, and cats. Family drew me back a few years ago, and I have been treating pets in the Chicago suburbs since then.

Many of my appointments in Texas were to see animals in a home/farm setting. I am so excited to get back to seeing pets at home versus in a clinic! Home visits are a much more relaxing setting for both pets and their families.

My special interests include preventative medicine, nutrition, and weight management, dermatology, pain management, and chiropractic. I am certified in veterinary spinal manipulation therapy, which is otherwise known as animal chiropractic. This therapy is so useful for pain management in pets of all ages.

My desire to be a veterinarian started at a very young age after growing up with dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and horses! In my free time, I love spending time with my husband, daughter, and our two dogs (Emma and Shawzy).

Dr. Gwen Pawlowski

Dr. Gwen Pawlowski

Veterinarian

Hi!  I’m Dr. Gwen Pawlowski.  I graduated Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 and spent the following year completing an internship in medicine and surgery at the VCA Aurora & Berwyn locations. I didn’t really know I wanted to be a vet until after college.  I have always liked science and was interested in pursuing human medicine.  After undergrad my first job was as a veterinary assistant at a local vet office.  We had several animals at home at the time and we were asked to go in to get our dog out of the cage after his neuter due to bad behavior!  The rest is history!

I have so many reasons why I love going on house calls!  The main reason is that it is clear the patients are more comfortable in their home.  I love that it is a more personal setting where I can connect more with my clients and their pets, and we are not rushed.  So often in the clinic setting there is that “hurried” feel.  I also really enjoy being out on the road in between appointments.  It’s great to be able to experience all the towns in the Western Suburbs.   As a doctor I am really passionate about preventative medicine.  It’s great to be able to use my previous experiences and the different tools to be able to try to figure out what is happening with a sick patient.  There is so much personal satisfaction when we can get them to feel better.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Mike, and our two kids, Kate and Jonathan.  Currently we have 3 dogs – a Beagle named Red, a Chihuahua named Chopper, and a Terrier mix named Fannie Mae.  My hobbies include taking a yoga class, traveling, trying new recipes, and puzzles.

Dr. Christina Mozdzierz

Dr. Christina Mozdzierz

Veterinarian

Hi! I’m Dr. Christina Mozdzierz. I graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 and spent the following year in Albuquerque, New Mexico completing an internship in medicine and surgery. I am originally from Long Island, NY and I practiced several years in New York and then Washington, DC before settling in the Chicagoland area.

I have always loved animals and some of my fondest childhood memories include camping trips with our dogs, playing with the pigs on my uncle’s farm in Georgia and bringing home my Kindergarten class duck for a weekend. As a veterinarian, I strive to partner with you to provide compassionate care and expertise to help keep your pet healthy and happy. I have a keen interest in preventative medicine, pain management, and feline medicine and behavior. My passion is the human/animal bond. I feel fortunate that everyday I get to be a part of that and help others enjoy the experience of having a healthy, happy pet in their lives.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two daughters. I am a big Disney and Harry Potter fan. I also love nature, going for walks, travel, homemade food, and movie nights. We have a cat, named Duma, who I feel lucky to have rescued after he was relinquished for a life-threatening urinary obstruction. His charming and mischievous antics keep us laughing. One of his favorite activities is jumping at the patio door trying to “catch” snowflakes in the winter, and dashing across the house, “chasing” after squirrels and chipmunks in the spring.

Marissa Normand, CVT

Marissa Normand, CVT

CVT, Patient Care Coordinator, Travel Nurse

Marissa, like many veterinary professionals, has wanted to work with animals from early on. As a child, she wanted to be a veterinarian, but the more experience she gained in the field, the more she realized becoming a veterinary technician was her true calling. Marissa earned her CVT license through Fox College Vet Tech Program in 2013. She has experience working in emergency medicine, general practice, diagnostic laboratory, and animal control.

Marissa’s veterinary passions include learning about and implementing low-stress and fear-free handling techniques, client education, and dental health care. When Marissa is not vet-tech-ing, she can be found spending time at home with her family zoo, including her husband, two human kids, two dogs, and a cat.

Tyler Lindsey, CVT

Tyler Lindsey, CVT

Certified Veterinary Technician and Patient Care Coordinator

Hi! My name is Tyler Lindsey and I am one of the Certified Veterinary Technicians on the team.  I graduated from Fox College Vet Tech Program in 2014. I have always enjoyed working and helping animals.  House calls have been a great niche for me personally because I really love getting to know our clients and pets.  I love the ability to develop that close knit relationship with them.  Currently I have 3 dogs: Chef, Wrigley, and Betty.  Chef is a Lab/Great Dane.  Wrigley is a Pointer Mix. And Betty is a Pitbull.  But secretly, or not so secretly, I am an avid cat lover!!!  Someday I’ll have another cat again.  For now, I love any opportunity to help take care of our cat patients.  My secret superpower is cat blood draws.  The older kitties, especially.  When I’m not working, I love going on road trips, traveling with my dogs, hiking, and going to sporting events.

Matt Waeltz

Matt Waeltz

THE WELCOME WAGGIN’ WAGGINEER

Hi! My name is Matt Waeltz, an animal lover since birth. I was born and raised with horses, dogs, cats, and a goat. I’ve been exposed to animal species of all kinds being the son of a small animal veterinarian in southern Indiana. This includes responding to after-hour emergency calls, community vaccine events, helping the local DNR with wildlife, and a fond memory of watching my father perform surgery on a rather large python pet.

I went to school at Purdue University and graduated in 2008 as a Mechanical Engineer Technologist. I started my career in the biomechanical engineering field by programming robotic pipettes that allowed faster times to analyze blood samples. I then spent the majority of my engineering career working on heavy-duty equipment while at Caterpillar in Peoria and GKN in Woodridge. Currently I work at Tox Pressotechnik in Warrenville as one of their Application Engineers and Project Managers.

Oh – and I just happened to be the husband of Dr. Jeni Waeltz. I’m always there to listen to her business ideas and help when needed on any operational, engineering, and fleet needs. Bringing together my upbringing in vet med with my engineering background sounded like an amazing challenge and opportunity.

I’ve always appreciated seeing the wonderful bond between animals and humans. This bond has proven to be a deep love between companions and excited me to become a team member within The Welcome Waggin.

My interests are everything outdoors from spending hours in the barn practicing woodworking. I also value quality time with my family which includes my lovely wife, two daughters, two dogs, two cats, and a random chipmunk.
